Cute little restaurant(we believe it’s run by a family so it felt extra cozy!) they serve traditional Roman dishes and they’re amazing! make sure you make a reservation, it’s always busy with a line outside. I recommend everything on the menu, especially the lamb offal(organs)with artichokes, lamb chops, oxtail stew and the steak were all TO DIE FOR. We came here twice during our stay, it’s that good!

The best Carbonara we've ever had! Everything we ordered was delicious. The house wine was affordable and perfect for the table. Would recommend reserving a table if possible. We came around 21.00 and waited about 30minutes for a table without reservation (was definitely worth it!) 🍝 Staff was incredibly welcoming and the atmosphere was cozy and felt like a family-owned place 🫶🏼

Was the cutest (I believe family-ran) restaurant with daily specials! Although we opted for the Roman classics: Amatriciana & Carbonara. Amatriciana was so delicious and the texture of the noodle was perfect. You can tell the noodles are homemade. Although I would prefer my pork cheek to be more lean. The Carbonara was also delicious, super silky and smooth with the perfect sauce to noodle ratio! Highly recommend.

Luckily there was enough space to accommodate everyone. Everything we ordered was solid. If you enjoy offal (organ meat), the lamb offal dish is worth trying. The pasta all'amatriciana and carbonara were both good but definitely on the salty side. This is not necessarily a criticism of the restaurant as I found a lot of the big 4 Roman pastas to be generally quite salty at various restaurants during my stay. The meatballs were quite light and fluffy despite their appearance. The restaurant itself is located in a very cute and vibey narrow street in Monti which adds to the ambience.- Tipo di pasto

This is by far the best food we had eaten in Rome all week. The price was good the meatballs were like time traveling backwards into my Italian Grandma’s Kitchen in the USA and eating her meatballs again like I was a child . I can highly recommend this place .

Good food, fine well, homemade, no drama, no fuzz, just great food cooked very well, with fast and competent service, serving the real traditional dishes, all of them carefully made respecting the traditional recipes. I had the fettuccine with coda alla vaccinara, delicious, hearty, homemade, a delightful start! The parts was fresh, the sauce was phenomenal. The main course I had was the abbacchio a scottadito, plus the roast potatoes, another classic done extremely well. It was followed by a 2-desserts combo, the tiramisu, and the cake with dark chocolate and pears, both incredible. This wax the perfect ending to a great meal ! Our favorites dishes were the amatriciana and of course the coratella! The amatriciana sauce was just right, not too acidic, not too sweet (I usually do not like pasta with tomato sauce, but this one was just delish). Our servers were friendly. We had a great time and the food was really good.
We called to book in advance for lunch.

We dined at Taverna Romana during our visit to Rome. The carbonara is to die for — an absolute must-try. The service was good and the prices are fair. Definitely not a tourist trap.

Exquisite service and even better food! They are quick, kind and the meals are delicious. Do NOT skip this place if you are coming to Rome!! Lovely atmosphere and you can tell the locals also love it here. We will be returning🥰

We ordered the cheese and charcuterie platter for starters, tonnarelli cacio e pepe for the first course, and the oxtail and the saltimbocca for the second course. House wine helped wash these down. Worth a mention - they only serve beer, wine, and sodas.- Cibo

I was brought to taverna romana by my local friend and it was impressive! The internal organs were clean and well marinated. Roman pasta and carbonara were both excellent! Home-made tiramisu was an icing on the cake! So glad to enjoy an authentic Roman dinner at a tourist zone!

We went for lunch where our guide recommended (Luigi Bike Tours), and we weren’t sorry! Had a nice bottle of wine, charcuterie board with all Tuscany representation and Carbonara. Superb is an understatement! Of course there was a huge line…AS WE were leaving

By far the best meal we had in Rome. Definitely need to book ahead as it gets very busy. The food was incredible and the staff were lovely. At the end of our meal when I told the waitress that the wine was delicious, she gave me a glass to go! (Returned it after my walk of course). Can't wait to visit again next time we're in Rome.

My best meal in Rome. It was wonderful sat on the street watching the people go by with a view of the tower in the distance. The food was beautiful with excellent recommendations from Francesco. I’d recommend booking ahead or arriving when they open to guarantee a table.

Taverna Romana was located just down the street from our airbnb. It was such a great little restaurant. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious! But either go early or book in advance to avoid missing out.
